Help our community give thanks

For many Cincinnati families, Thanksgiving is the one day everyone shows up to give thanks. But many of our neighbors are stretching tight budgets even further, and a turkey can be harder to put on the table.

This Thanksgiving season, you can help by giving to the Turkey Drive with these 2 easy steps:

1. Shop for a turkey.

Pick up an 8-12lb frozen turkey from the store. Smaller is better. Donate one, two, or ten turkeys—there's no limit! Just turkeys, no chicken, ham, or sides, please.

2. Deliver the turkey.

Stop by the Healing Center to drop off your turkey(s) and our team will be ready to unload your car between 9:00am–12:30pm on:

- Sunday, November 8
- Sunday, November 15

Families shop for their turkey.

Healing Center guests will shop for their free turkey in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving. Other items will also be available in our Marketplace food pantry to complete their meal.

FAQs

Can I give online?

Yes! Online gifts will help us provide food for guests. The deadline to give online is Tuesday, November 17. But if you can, buy the turkey yourself. You'll usually get a better price at the store than we can, especially during early-November sales. All donations are tax-deductible.

What size turkey should I donate?

Frozen turkeys between 8–12 pounds are best for our guests. Smaller is better! Bring one, two, or 25. There's no limit!

Who gets the turkeys?

We expect to serve about 1,300 local families who regularly shop at the Healing Center's Marketplace food pantry. Limit one turkey per family.

Can I donate other food?

No, thank you. We are grateful for your generosity, but this year we're only collecting turkeys. Just turkeys and only turkeys. No chicken, ham or side dishes.

Why are you only collecting turkeys?

The Healing Center provides fresh produce, dairy products, canned goods and other food through partnerships like the Freestore Foodbank and Kroger. Turkeys are not usually available, so that's where you come in!

When and where can I drop off my turkey donation?

Sunday, November 8 and Sunday, November 15 from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM, in front of the Healing Center, located on the Vineyard's campus at 11345 Century Circle West Springdale, OH. Just pull up and our team will be ready to unload your car.

Can I drop off at a different day or time?

No, unfortunately, we are not staffed to receive turkeys on days and times other than Sunday, November 8 and Sunday, November 15 from 9 AM.– 12:30 PM.
